How to Plant Your Patch:
- Clear the Ground: Native seeds need bare soil. Remove existing grass, weeds, or heavy mulch from a 4×4 foot area.
- Mix & Scatter: Because these seeds are tiny, mix your packet with a handful of dry sand or potting soil. This helps you scatter them evenly across the bare dirt.
- Press, Don’t Bury: Walk over the area or pat the soil down firmly. Do not bury the seeds—many of these wildflowers need sunlight to trigger germination.
- Water: Keep the patch lightly moist until sprouts appear.
- Be Patient: Native perennials take time to establish their deep roots. Remember the perennial rule: Year 1 they sleep, Year 2 they creep, Year 3 they leap!
